On the morning of June 24, 2024, the National Science and Technology Conference, the National Science and Technology Award Conference, and the Academician Conference were held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and the 2023 State Science and Technology Award list was announced!
The "Core technology and Equipment for precision Manufacturing of Large-capacity lithium-ion batteries" research project with Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Xinyuren as the main completion units won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2023. In the machinery and manufacturing group, this project is the only one to systematically study the full set of lithium battery equipment to win the award. As one of the main completion of the project, Yang Zhiming, chairman of Xinyuren, attended the conference and accepted the honorary award.
The State Science and Technology Awards are a series of awards established by The State Council in order to reward citizens and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological progress activities, mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of scientific and technological workers, and build an innovative country and a world power in science and technology. The awards are: the State Supreme Science and Technology Award, the State Natural Science Award, the State Technological Invention Award, the State Science and Technology Progress Award, the People's Republic of China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, a total of 5.
The State Science and Technology Awards adhere to the national strategic orientation, and closely integrate with the major national strategic needs and medium - and long-term scientific and technological development plans; We will uphold the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee and implement the strategy of innovation-driven development. It is the highest national award for scientific and technological workers and is known as the highest podium of science and technology in China.
Winning project introduction
1、Project background
Large-capacity batteries are conducive to improving energy density and group applications, and are regarded as the ballast stone of the global new energy revolution, a breakthrough for "lane change and overtaking" in pillar industries such as new energy vehicles and ships, and a power source for the performance jump of major equipment such as space stations and deep-diving vehicles. Therefore, large-capacity batteries have become one of the international competition heights and strategic directions.
In the production process of large-capacity batteries, core manufacturing processes and equipment such as pulping, coating and rolling are the key to ensure the capacity, performance and safety of the battery, which directly affects the success of the subsequent process and the final quality of the battery. For the battery production industry, whether it is the process principle, key components or equipment production line, it is facing extremely high standard requirements.
In addition, in the manufacturing of battery poles, such as high-precision extrusion coating die and other core components of battery manufacturing have been monopolized by EDI, Mitsubishi and other companies in the United States for a long time, how can China develop more efficient wide-width double-sided coating equipment at the same time is the pain point and difficulty in large-capacity battery manufacturing technology.
2、Project outcome
Since 2012,Xinyuren has joined hands with Huazhong University of Science and Technology to launch a scientific research project cooperation on "core technology and equipment for precision manufacturing of large-capacity lithium-ion batteries". After more than ten years of technical exploration and overcoming difficulties, we finally achieved a number of breakthroughs and first achievements, establishing the global leading advantage of large-capacity lithium-ion battery manufacturing technology in China:
1.The world's first Single Direction Double-sided Coating, subversive double-sided simultaneous coater process, greatly improve the coating efficiency and consistency, energy saving more than 40%.
2.We have conquered the design and manufacturing technology of wide-width extrusion coating mold, and independently developed precision extrusion coating mold, breaking the technological monopoly of foreign mold materials, design and manufacturing.
3.The technology of dry-wet correlation measurement and accurate control of coating was invented. Laser thickness measurement and X/β ray thickness measurement system were developed to achieve accurate control of thickness and surface density.
4.The multi-stage rolling process equipment and continuous automatic baking process and equipment have been developed, which greatly improves the manufacturing accuracy and efficiency of battery electrode pieces.
3、Project application
Through the application of the innovative technology of this project,Xinyuren have developed a series of equipment and production lines for pole film manufacturing. Among them, the world's first innovative research and development of theSingle Direction Double-sided Coating, in addition to greatly improve the accuracy and electrical performance of the pole, but also save energy consumption of more than 40%, and was selected in the "Guangdong Province's first (set) major technical equipment promotion and application guidance directory". At the same time, the equipment and production line developed based on the innovative technology of this project have been widely used in the production fields of power batteries, energy storage batteries, 3C batteries, etc.
Since its inception,Xinyuren regard scientific and technological innovation as the foundation of enterprise development, and take the initiative to shoulder cutting-edge scientific research and overcome the "neck" problem, etc., more than 8% of sales revenue is used for R & D innovation every year, set up academician workstations, and create a high-level R & D team led by academician experts, with 278 intellectual property rights. It has won a number of international scientific and technological achievements recognition and technological invention awards, and is a national high-tech enterprise and a national key specialized and new "little giant" enterprise.
Our country has entered the stage of high-quality development, and the development of new quality productive forces is the core driving force of future social change.
